A year of WooCommerce and ERPNext running quietly: the IAES integration
Twelve months ago, we connected Industrial Automation & Electrical Systems Ltd’s (IAES) WooCommerce store directly to ERPNext. Since then, we’ve had almost no reason to log back in — and that’s exactly the point.
Industrial supply is a quote-driven business. IAES sells hundreds of technical part numbers — contactors, drives, motors, switchgear, PLCs, cables — and nearly every sale starts as a request for a quotation. The default workflow for a business like this is brutal: a customer sends a part number, someone hunts it down, someone re-types it into the ERP, and everyone hopes nothing gets lost along the way.
On iaestz.com/shop, that middle layer doesn’t exist anymore.
- Sales inquiries land in ERPNext as Leads
- Quote requests arrive as Quotations, ready for the sales team
- Confirmed orders become Sales Invoices automatically
- Stock, pricing, and customer data stay in one place, not two
A year of live transactions later, there are no data gaps, no drift between the store and the ERP, and no emergency calls. The IAES team spends its time on engineering and supply — not on copying information from one system into another.
We don’t measure integration work by what it does on launch day. We measure it by how quiet it stays afterwards.
Grateful to the IAES team for trusting us with it.
If your storefront and your ERP still aren’t talking to each other, that’s a solved problem. Let’s talk.
